Data were obtained from 69 students each participating in Applied Clinical Nursing of Community Health Nursing I curriculum that includes Community Health Care Nursing and Mental Health and Psychiatric Nursing Clinical Practice. In this course, the students learned the importance of support taking into consideration the various community services and the development of an understanding of the patient\u0027s life on leaving hospital. In addition, students learned the importance of respecting the will of the individual and supporting the individual\u0027s activities of daily living. In comparison with \"Public Health Nurse\u0027s essential ability and contents\" reported by Kanagawa et al., this course includes many items related to Basic ability, which have increased compared to the previous year\u0027s course. However, there were very few items related to Research and analysis ability in Basic ability and Analysis and decision ability in Understanding the community and support ability.
