Fifty-four CVD patients (aged 43-83) and 41 PD patients (aged 49-78) were examined. The duration of illness was 12 to 132 months for CVD patients and 1 to 211 months for PD patients. Seventy healthy old subjects (aged 48-80) also served as normal controls. Self-esteem was scored with Rosenberg's scale. Activity of daily life (ADL) was evaluated with Barthel's index. The degree of impairment was graded according to Brunnstrom for CVD and Hoehn and Yahr Stage and Unified Parkinson's Disease Rating Scale (UPDRS) for PD. For 5 years after the first medical examination, self-esteem scores for PD patients were significantly smaller than for CVD patients (p<0.05). In both CVD and PD patients, self-esteem scores were not closely related to the degree of impairment and ADL. Depression and motivation/initiative scores in UPDRS had a significantly close correlation with self-esteem scores for PD patients (p<0.05). These findings suggested the importance of psychosocial approach In long-term rehabilitation for PD patients., 大阪府立看護大学医療技術短期大学部紀要. 1999, 4, p.37-44}, pages = {37--44}, title = {脳血管障害患者とパーキンソン病患者のself-esteemに関する研究 : 罹病期間と障害の影響(自然科学系)}, volume = {4}, year = {1999} }
