 note = {application/pdf, Common sense has two meanings. First, as Aristotle says, it is the sixth sense which integrates five senses. Second, it is the sense which people share in a society. In this paper I discussed the second common sense in criticizing Taku Egawa's essay on Dostoevsky's novels. This is because Taku Egawa, a famous Japanese scholar of Dostoevsky, has discussed Dostoevsky's novels as if he were a native Russian, thereby neglecting the boundary between the Russian common sense and the Japanese one.
